Literature Text

I'm a 14 year old girl.
Feeling perfection, so happy
And great.
My best friend, my family, Charlie….
I have a smile on my face.
A text, a chat, we spoke every day,
My companion, my friend.
My life, it's perfect.
But push comes to shove
And the shove was the worst.
Charlie entered my life,
Something I cannot reverse.
On single meet, Charlie's sugar coated words,
He lied, I cared. This was the start of the curse.
A gift bag sits upon my lap, Charlie sits next to me.
I look at what's inside; I have the urge to flee.
The start of a motor,
A motel room,
Pieces of red,
The shredding of my cocoon.
A touch, a kiss.
Blue flowers on the wall.
No running back now.
He has taken it all.
The calls, they ended.
The chats, they stopped.
How come I wasn't mended?
Sadness, lost, why did you disappear?
I thought you cared,
My soul felt bare.
My life as I knew it was falling into despair.
A counsellor,
The cops,
They all started to meddle,
My parents
My friend,
They boiled the kettle.
An easy solution….
Why won't you just call?!?
The internet,
Connections,
ISP addresses,
They all wanted to find you,
This was the middle of the mess.
I believed in you.
Why didn't you see?
Let's come to the part
That there were other girls like me.
I wrote this after watching the movie Trust; a heart wrenching movie about a girl who fell prey to a man on the internet, making her believe that he was everything she needed in her life... Without realizing the consequences and the repercussions in her life...
